Wynns Cabernet Sauvignon 1996

Wynns Cabernet Sauvignon 1996

I got a case of this from the Langtons Wine Exchange earlier in the year. Thanks to the vendor of this lot as the wine seems to have been cellared well. The nose showed richness and complexity: red currants, stalk, tobacco, cedar, red cherries, a touch of mint. Rich on the palate too, punchy sweet red currants, black currants, olives, tobacco leaf and dusty tannins. Lovely fruit sweetness with excellent length. Hardly looks 13 years old; still has a way to go too.

Opening a bottle on the 20th, as it is a favourite of my father in law. I hope the cork holds up. Something to look forward to now!
