Unison Syrah 2006

Unison Syrah 2006

From the Gimblett Gravels in the Hawke’s Bay region. Oh, of New Zealand. A complex and alluring nose. Nice red fruits and sweet dusty spices, undertones of meat and vanilla, with musk, and even citrus overtones. The palate showed dark cherry and red plum with cinnamon and mixed spices. Possesses a fine balance. Sealed under cork and looked much improved on the second night. RRP around $40 I would guess. 13.0% abv. Drink 2014+. 92 points.

  1. Diam … and diam well sold out. 07 almost gone too — 95 points from Caillard (FWIW). 08 shows a bit more oak now but maybe it just needs a bit more time. 09 should benefit from the move to French oak.
