Umami Shiraz 2008

Umami Shiraz 2008

Oooh, nicely aromatic, with red fruits like cherried and plums, with some vanilla pod, cinnamon and a smidge of garam masala. Very promising; clean and fresh. With time it lost some of its perfume and developed a mushroom earthiness. The palate was lightly peppered, with light red fruits backed by spices, and some acid sneaking in there too. A dry savoury finish. Not much more to say really, so I’ll go away now.
