Tulloch Tempranillo 2011

Tulloch Tempranillo 2011

I didn’t like this when I opened it, but after it had an hour idling around in the glass, I could see some appeal in it. Morello cherries, and then hints of vanilla, cream, mushrooms, spices, cassia bark; lots of goodness.
Striking acid on the palate (it was piercing when first opened), but with raspberry and cherry fruits, and dryish spices. A vibrant and zingy palate. Served with food it looks better, and that’s the way it should be.
14.2% abv. Screwcap. Probably in the low $20s from the cellar door – not sure really. Drink over the medium term.
