Teusner “The Riebke” Shiraz 2008

Teusner The Riebke Shiraz 2008

I was going to review the 05 St Henri, but this wine has jumped the queue. It is almost a ‘house red’ now at my place, and is a difficult wine to review because it disappears so damn fast. Quick wench, open another carton! By the way, the picture is of Kym Teusner in the Riebke vineyard with some 70 year old vines; it’s sort of like Harold and Maude. The wine itself is a joyful expression of beautiful Shiraz fruit, plump and juicy, plummy fruits with no oak, which suits me fine. Ripe juicy fruits on the palate with succulent fruit tannins and good length. Highly recommended, and at the price it is ridiculous value.
