Telmo Rodriguez Dehesa Gago 2005

Telmo Rodriguez Dehesa Gago 2005

Red in colour, with some purple tints. A generous nose showing blueberries and blackberries, and some mixed spices. The palate is soft, with juicy fruits, earthy and also meaty and herby, and with some acidity to match. A good drying finish with a touch of leather. It is perhaps a bit boozier than stated on the label, and what it lacks in sophistication it makes up for with exuberance. Another plus is that the oak is dialled down – I couldn’t notice much at all really.
