From the most recent cellar club release. A blend of 50% Shiraz and 50% Durif. Matured in a combination of 1 and 2 year old American and French oak for 14 months. The nose displayed blackcurrants, black plums, coffee, mocha, jam and black liquorice. The palate was rich, red and robust, with lovely black earthiness, plums, liquorice and coffee grounds. Medium to full bodied with ripe but slightly grainy tannins. No heat whatsoever. A very satisfying red – perhaps Rutherglen reds deserve more attention than they currently receive.

Sounds very interesting. Good to see the alcohol is in control. I’m sure Stanton and Killeen deserve the attention but all of Rutherglen might be carrying it a bit too far.
Fair enough. One swallow doesn’t make a summer, nor….. now there’s another idiom involving swallows that has escaped my mind…. perhaps someone more scatalogically minded could remind me
I can hear everyone scattering now. eeeeew.
