Seppelt “Aerin’s Vineyard” Grenache Shiraz Mataro 2009

Seppelt Aerin's Vineyard Grenache Shiraz Mataro 2009

A relative cheapie from the cellar door. About $14 per bottle, and sealed under screwcap. I thought it was nicely packaged, with a calming greenness like a rain forest, but my wife thought is a tacky. Tasted over two nights, offering a similar note on both occasions. Spicy raspberries on the nose, followed by an under-fruited palate showing sour light red fruits and stale spices. If this were sealed under cork I would have said it was faulty (stripped). I briefly tried blending it with something that some punch but failed miserably; I can see a bottle or two of this making its way into a bolognese sauce. 81 points.

    … and you’ll probably end up with a below-par Bolognese sauce 🙁

Ah ha the stripped screwcap wine-people tell me they dont exist!
Reminds me of the over sulphured oxidised wine…..
