Roberto Voerzio Langhe Nebbiolo 2006

Roberto Voerzio Langhe Nebbiolo 2006

Spices almost like cloves, florals almost like violets, tar and stones, cherries but almost plums. A big long and savoury palate, with a very dry finish. Softens considerably with a few hours in the glass. Now, in the past, I have been quite a fan of Nebbiolo, but I do wonder about wines like this, wines that have such grippy and ferric tannins. The question is, do you drink them now and decant early, sampling the wine occasionally, trying to find a sweet spot during the day, or do you cellar them hoping for the tannins to have softened but then wondering if there will be any fruits left to enjoy? Drink whenever you please I suppose. 14.0% abv. Sealed under cork.

Just take a slab of cheese, salami and bread with it.
