Primo Estate “Il Briccone” Shiraz Sangiovese 2007

Primo Estate Il Briccone Shiraz Sangiovese 2007

I have just purchased a mixed dozen from the Primo Estate cellar door: three bottles each of the Il Briccone, Zamburlan, Merlesco and Shale Stone Shiraz.

A vibrant red in colour. Quite perfumed; cherries and sherbet, grapey and youthful. The palate is bright, with blackberries and black plums, red cherries and a bit of a ping, rich fruit flavours, some minerals and gunsmoke, savoury nuances, finishing with vanilla and red liquorice. Pretty good fruit depth; not bad quality for the money.
