Penley Estate “Phoenix” Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

Penley Estate Phoenix Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

Blackberries and dark cherries, a bit of compost and a strange vegetal character. On the palate, red currants, stewed fruits, vegetables, green beans, almost something herbal. Fine tannins, and pretty good length. It settled a bit with time, but maintained an underlying green character. Now generally the Phoenix is held in high regard for both quality and value-for-money, so I think I should get another bottle.
