Odds & Ends XVIII

  • Roberto Voerzio Nebbiolo 2006: very good
  • Peter Lehmann “Margaret” Semillon” 2005: tasty
  • Rockford Rifle Range Road Cabernet Sauvignon 2009: undecided about this one. Didn’t do much for me. Tasted better when mixed with some of the next wine
  • Cape Mentelle Shiraz 2009: pretty boring by itself. A bit hollow and tinny too
  • Domaine Aurilien Verdet Vosne Romanee 2007: very tasty
  • Yering Station Chardonnay 2010: a bigger style, almost too big for me
  • Taylors Jaraman Cabernet Sauvignon 2009: a huge one, all coffee and mocha etc etc. Definitely too big for me; made my gums bleed
  • Hoddles Creek Pinot Noir 2011: lovely delicacy. I will re-visit another bottle of this soon
  • Chartogne-Taillet Cuvee St Anne Brut 375ml nv: excellent. Let it warm up a tad and seems better
