Meerea Park Alexander Munro Shiraz 2005

Meerea Park Alexander Munro Shiraz 2005

I had this the other week when Garth Eather was schmoozing in Brisbane. Quite a vibrant red. Initially quite an oaky nose, but with a lovely perfume, nuts and some great red fruits and red cherries. All these follow straight through to the palate like a parade, ordered and structured and marching in time, balanced (and yet so young), raspberries, plum fruits, beautiful tannins, no, sensational tannins, with nutmeg, earth, blackberry and earth. How good is this? It would be silly to stop at a single glass, or two for that matter. This is not the current release, as the 2004s are still available – not a shabby wine by any means, but come July get yourself a 6 pack of this if you can manage it.
