This one is an individual vineyard wine from Meerea Park, in particular the Ivanhoe vineyard in Pokolbin. Terroir rules. Classy blackberry and sweet earth, char grilled sausages, a touch of herbs and matchstick, and toasty vanilla. The palate balances sweet black cherries and spice with quite a bit of oak, creamy and nutty oak, but it is not a concern because the fruit carries it well on its broad shoulders. Very approachable now, but should also cellar well in the medium term. This is a lovely wine.
