Let me effuse: this is bloody good. Tightly wound, but still generous enough to make you want another glass. Red fruits, plums and cherries, with chocolate, cocoa, coffee beans, cream and cedar all wafting in and out of the picture. The palate shows a lovely purity of fruit, raspberries, cherries and plums, red liquorice, with an underlay of coffee bean, mocha and cedar. Medium bodied, but only just – not a blockbuster at all really. Fantastic tannins and fantastic length. Three bottle buy for me at the going price; might even be better at 10 years of age.
