Very nice packaging, not that that should be the reason for buying a particular bottle of wine, but it is a consideration. Straight from the bottle it seemed a bit rustic, but got better and better with time. Minerals, dried herbs, red cherries, and an old wood character, followed by a savoury palate, minerals, sour cherries, light balsamic notes and a dry finish. Initially too dry, but it gained body over the afternoon while maintaining lovely savoury flavours. Quite charming. $45 from The Wine Emporium a few years ago. 13.0% abv. 90 points.
