Domaine Le Claud Cuvée du Roumanis 2006

Purchased over four years ago, and perhaps should have been drunk sooner. It is a Vin de Pays d’Oc, so the expectations were set low. $23. 13.5% abv, sealed under cork. No browning; a good red colour. I don’t like the nose; dry red fruits with river mud and dirt. The palate is very dry, leather and old stones, a growl of rusticity that makes it taste hollow. Needs some fruit and some juicy. Just drinkable. 80 points.
