So we are shopping at the West End Markets this morning and my wife suggests duck for dinner. There was nothing suitable there (only whole ducks and breasts) so off we go to Rosalie Gourmet Meats, and thus were en-ducked. Is that a word? So a round of golf later, I arrive home to much goodness eminating from the kitchen. How good is that? What does one drink?
On to the wine. Some pretty florals. Kinda sexy. Red cherry, red plum, red skins, gunsmoke, black cherries and minerals. The palate is great, fruit without too much weight, ripe red cherries and red plums, black cherries, acid, and tangy fleshy tomatoes. The finish is long, with cranberries and minerals. With time, there is some dry extract and a taste of solids too, but without heaviness or sweetness. A wine that should go a while longer. 13.0% abv. Drink 2013-2020+. 93 points.
