Domaine Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2000

Domaine Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2000

Medium yellow in colour. An engaging complex nose of honeycomb and lime green creaminess, oysters, honey florals and steel, almost beeswax, greengage plums and nectarine. The palate revealed honeyed characters, citrus fruits and finished with a sour muskiness. There is also a weird drying salty grittiness to the wine, and more strangely it seemed a bit uncoordinated at the moment, because on the palate it showed dollops of fruits first and then acid second. It does seem to lack some precision, and certainly polarised the group. I did expect better.
