Slick packaging. 230 dozen produced. A current release, despite being 5 years old. A medium red in colour, and really quite an intriguing and elusive nose: red liquorice, leafy, red fruits, spearmint, nuts and some malty oak. The palate showed red currants, red cherries, nuts, leathery and slightly stalky, soft tannins that built a touch with time, and quite a bit of acid. Very smooth and very pleasant, medium length, showing some maturity, and though it didn’t taste it at the time, I think some liberty has been taken with the %abv figure – I felt quite dusty the next day.
