Camille Giroud Savigny-les-Beaune “Les Peuillets” 1er cru 2009

Camille Giroud Savigny-les-Beaune Peuillets 1er cru 2009

Was about $55 I think. Neville will correct me no doubt 😉

A strong punchy nose; roasted meats and iron palings, matched with juicy cherries and some creamy oak. The palate is big and delicious too, with a spadeful of dry fruits and minerals. Not pretty and elegant; more beefy and muscular. A lovely dry finish, stoney and steely. 90 points. Still got 6 bottles left; was a good purchase in hindsight.

The 2010 is even better. I convinced CG to sell me a case when they said there was none left. I intended to keep them all but stupidly I sold them all instead. Hoping one of the buyers shares a bottle with me one day!
